Have you ever looked at your reflection in a mirror? Silly question, you all probably have. But what did you see when you looked at yourself…besides your skin color, hair, eyes, and clothes. Were you proud? If you are like the majority of the population you probably think you are wearing the wrong clothes or have a bad hair cut or are ‘fat.’ But guess what…you are wrong. You are perfect. Just the way you are.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
You were created in Gods image (Genesis 1:27). It may be hard to understand but you are perfect just the way you are. Society has somehow managed to fixate us on its idea of perfection: skinny, tan, and flawless. But while you may feel pressured by friends, celebrities, or the magazines, the only judgement that truly matters is that from God.
So when you finally meet Him in Heaven, will he be proud? Dumb question…of course He will–there is no doubt about that. But will you have lived your life for Him? It is a challenge, but with His help and guidance, you will never fail.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
I hope that the next time you look in the mirror, you see what He sees–perfection.
