Here we go. Step two. But before we get started, may I just say that I am totally writing as I go. Being bold is so much easier said than done…I just pray that I am speaking God’s wisdom now to help everyone (including myself!) who has been called to be bold.
Alright…so you’re ready for step two? Well, the next step in being bold is leaving your comfort zone. Being bold is all about putting yourself out there with courage—so do it! I found this great quote on Pinterest the other day:
How true is that? Seriously!
There are so many ways to step outside of your comfort zone when being bold—both directly and indirectly. Let’s explore the difference between the two:
Directly: going to your desire directly; not taking short cuts; independently
Indirectly: taking small steps to pursue your desire, may involve asking questions or seeking wisdom from others
Either way, do something! I chose to start small. It is working for me only because that is how God has created me to act—I am shy and guarded…I am not going to go directly to my desire…instead I will take the small steps that He has placed in front of me. But it will be scary to take those steps, no matter how small they are because you are stepping out. Just remember Hebrews 13:5
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
God is going to be with you throughout your journey in life. He has called you to be bold and will be there with you with every-single step you take. Again, continue to pray and update God on your life…I mean, yes He already knows–but He loves when we tell Him!
There is another part in step two as well…don’t give in to selfishness. That is something that I was starting to notice about me…but I immediately stopped and prayed to God to forgive me of my selfishness and for His continued guidance. That’s all it took. I am now refocused on Him and His plans for me…He will lead me to my desire if it is in His plans. But, I will continue to be bold in all that I do now because He has called me to be so.
I will continue to move forward in my boldness that God has called upon me and we’ll see how this “mini-series” continues to develop. Until next time 🙂
